Our favorite bits of storytelling aren’t just fun to read or watch; they engage and compel us through how they approach their topics, present themselves, or elicit a below-the-surface response from their audience.
Rather than judge subjects on a one-size-fits-all scale, I like to dig into the same ideas that they’re digging into. Less “is <THING> good”, and more “why does <THING> stick with me”?
Because you can have a neat thing without it necessarily being a great thing – and the former is almost always worth the longer look in the end.
